Foundations and family
Held at the Beştepe National Congress and Culture Centre with the participation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the programme explored mutual support, solidarity and the preservation of foundation heritage under the theme “Foundations and Family”. Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Director General of Foundations Sinan Aksu also attended.
Preserving a shared heritage
As part of the Directorate General of Foundations’ 101st anniversary, 101 restored foundation heritage sites in Türkiye and abroad reopened. The openings of Gökmedrese in Tokat, Kurtuluş Mosque in Gaziantep, Selimiye Mosque in Nicosia and Shkodër Mosque in Albania were followed through live connections. Preserving these historic sites and passing them on to future generations was a tangible focus of the programme.
From the foundation tradition to climate responsibility
The Earth Foundation connects the tradition of dedicating resources to the common good with the responsibility to protect nature, strengthen social solidarity and safeguard the right to life of future generations. This understanding guides its work, from combating climate change and promoting responsible resource use to supporting local production and preserving cultural heritage.
Participation in Foundations Week reflects the Earth Foundation’s connection to a longstanding foundation tradition and its approach to sustaining that tradition in response to today’s environmental and social needs.
