Earth Foundation shares its work at Mersin’s climate and agriculture conference
Serpil Arslantaş, Founder and Chairwoman of the Earth Foundation for Combating Climate Change, presented the Foundation’s work and projects at an international conference in Mersin.

Organised within the Mersin Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s “Hear the Plants’ Voice, Adapt for Climate Change” project, the conference provided a platform to exchange knowledge and experience on climate adaptation and the future of agriculture. Supported under the Climate Change Adaptation Grant Programme, the project was implemented in partnership with Mersin Metropolitan Municipality, Boğaziçi University and the ALATA Horticultural Research Institute.
Through scientific analyses, the project identified alternative crops suitable for Mersin and prepared technical reports on their cultivation. Supported by training, workshops and awareness activities, this work aimed to strengthen the resilience of agricultural production in a changing climate.
Speaking in the session “Understanding the Climate, Protecting Agriculture”, Arslantaş introduced the Earth Foundation’s founding approach, areas of work and ongoing projects. By sharing the Foundation’s experience, she highlighted the role of local initiatives in climate action.
The conference connected scientific knowledge with practical experience and enabled institutions to share their approaches. The Earth Foundation brought the contribution of civil society to climate action and the importance of cooperation into the discussion.
