A stronger voice for young people in city life
Implemented by the Youth Organizations Forum (GoFor), with support from UN Women and the Government of Norway and in cooperation with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, the project aims to strengthen young people’s active participation in local decision-making on gender equality.
The project focuses on increasing young women’s participation in urban and public life and creating more equitable civic spaces. It seeks to provide opportunities for young people to have a voice on equality and the right to the city, express their needs and contribute to solutions.
Local cooperation for equality
The introductory and stakeholder meeting at HUB Antalya Entrepreneurship Centre brought together women’s organisations to raise the project’s visibility and strengthen local cooperation. Representing the Foundation, Semra Sürücüoğlu joined other stakeholders at this gathering focused on equal participation.
Forums, workshops and other activities planned under the project aim to raise young people’s awareness of gender equality and support the development of inclusive policy proposals.
Young men’s experiences of equality
Eren Arslantaş, the Foundation’s youngest Board of Trustees member, represented the Foundation in a focus group for young men organised by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and GoFor as part of the project.
Designed to enable young men to share their experiences of gender equality and masculinity, the session aimed to offer a safe, non-judgemental space to discuss how masculinity is shaped and how it can change. The gathering sought to strengthen young people’s active participation in local decision-making.
