We work at urban scale to help cities become greener, more liveable, and more resilient to climate change. Reducing the carbon footprint of cities, protecting natural assets, encouraging people-centred transport, and building resilient infrastructure are at the heart of this approach.
Urban planning
Cities planned on sustainable urban principles are more resilient to heatwaves, flooding, and other climate risks. We focus on integrating green space, energy-efficient buildings, climate-adapted infrastructure, transit-oriented development (TOD), and low-carbon settlement patterns.
Green spaces
Parks, urban forests, green corridors, and rooftop gardens improve air quality, reduce the urban heat island, and make room for biodiversity. We support protecting existing green space, planning new areas, and projects that help communities use them actively.
Sustainable transport
Prioritising public transport, cycling, and walking in cities cuts emissions and supports healthier places to live. We work to expand cycle networks, walkable neighbourhoods, electric mobility options, and low-emission transport strategies.
Energy efficiency
Raising efficiency standards for housing, public buildings, and commercial structures; integrating renewable energy (solar, wind, and more); and smart-grid solutions are central to our climate-compatible city goals.
Wastewater and water management
Cities must grow without breaking the water cycle: treating wastewater, reuse (greywater systems), and harvesting rainwater are critical. We support water saving, better urban water infrastructure, and adaptation to drought risk under climate change.
