    Climate action

    Climate action

Our foundation works across many fronts to understand the drivers and impacts of climate change, respond to this global crisis, and help build a sustainable future. The headings below summarise our core focus areas in this field.

    Greenhouse gas emissions

Reducing greenhouse gas emissions—the main drivers of climate change—is among our top priorities:

    • Scaling up energy efficiency practices,
    • Expanding renewable energy use,
    • Supporting institutions and individuals to shrink their carbon footprint

We develop projects under these headings and amplify good examples.

    Renewable energy

Moving away from fossil fuels towards clean sources is essential. We provide guidance so solar, wind, and small‑scale hydro solutions spread more widely, and we support investment and public awareness.

    Climate adaptation

We must build cities, farming systems, and communities that can cope with changing conditions:

    • Water and basin management,
    • Disaster risk reduction,
    • Climate‑resilient agriculture

Under these headings we deliver training and field activities that strengthen local capacity.

    Carbon footprint

Measuring and cutting emissions caused by individuals, organisations, and projects is integral to climate action. We raise awareness on footprinting, reporting, and reductions, encouraging good practices in municipalities and business.

    Sustainable agriculture

To buffer climate impacts on food production and protect food security, sustainable farming must spread widely. Soil conservation, efficient water use, and support for local seed systems are pillars of our work here.

    Just transition

The shift to clean energy must be ecologically sound and socially fair. We underline the importance of policies that keep workers, small producers, and vulnerable groups from being left behind.

    Green jobs and green economy

Meeting climate goals should green employment, not shrink it. We foster new livelihoods in renewables, efficiency, waste management, recycling, and sustainable agriculture—and offer pathways for youth and local authorities.
