Reviving the wonder of creation: a matter of insight (basîrah)

The motto we embrace as Yeryüzü Climate Action Foundation— “Reviving the wonder of creation is within our insight (basîrah)!”—is not a mere phrase. It carries deep meaning and a strong vision. In summarising our mission and work, it highlights humanity’s responsibility toward creation and our capacity to fulfil that responsibility.

“The wonder of creation” foregrounds the unique value and delicate balance of our planet and the wider universe. From the complex ecosystems that sustain life to breathtaking natural beauty, creation is a miracle beyond full human grasp. Yet human-driven climate change is a clear sign that this balance is under strain and that irreversible harm is possible.

This is where insight (basîrah) comes in: not only seeing the present, but understanding deeply, grasping the essence of events, foreseeing the future, and deciding rightly. In the fight against climate change we take insight as our foundation, acting on scientific knowledge, technological progress, and public awareness. Our goal is to produce effective, lasting solutions that reduce climate impacts and build a sustainable future.

“To revive” (ihya) is another pillar of the motto: to repair what is damaged, to bring new life, to restore. It expresses our commitment to heal the planet and restore natural balance—not only reversing environmental harm, but leaving future generations a liveable world.

“Within our insight” affirms our belief that humanity can shoulder this duty and succeed. Individuals, institutions, and societies can move together, equipped with knowledge and conscience, and produce effective solutions to the climate crisis.

“Reviving the wonder of creation is within our insight!” expresses that we pursue a path that is scientific, strategic, and sustainable—and that we keep remembering the beauty and worth of our planet.

With this motto we invite every person, organisation, and community to take an active role in climate action. It is a shared responsibility. By acting together we can safeguard the future of our planet.
